Roald Dahl Day

Anybody who is an avid reader would be familiar with this author named Roald Dahl. September 13th is his birthday and is celebrated as the Roald Dahl Day, a day dedicated to him and his creative work.

He wrote kids classics, some of which include Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Fantastic Mr. Fox, James and the Giant Peach, The Witches and Matilda. Despite their popularity, some of them met with commercial and critical acclaim, some of them were even made into popular movies.

In Dahl’s long writing career, he has composed 19 children’s books and 9 short stories collections, this is in addition to several television scripts and movie scripts.

So how do you celebrate this day you ask?

Well, the ideal way according to me would be to get together with some friends and watch one of the movies written by Dahl, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang or pick one from a list of movies based on his works. Another way would be to get together with friends and collect some donation to send to Dahl’s Marvelous Children’s Charity…… Viola!!

Now you have a super Roald Dahl Day planned.

Enjoy 🙂
